These last few weeks we have looked at how important youth and student activism has been in the past in America and around the world. The movement emphasized the need for educational reform on every level. We talked about the impact of the movement, what was accomplished and what was not. We acknowledged that it was a movement that represented the makeup of the communities from where the student populations came from.
This connection of activity was not only in America but all over the world as students began to connect the dots of oppression in their nations that were and still are subjected to U.S. Imperialism and oppression. This week we will open the doors to American Classrooms. The Educational Impact on Black and Brown Students in the classroom. Are Black and Brown children being 'educated'? Do Black and Brown Children face negativity and bias from teachers and administrators? What children are being affected by school closures? How has the Black and Brown community reacted? Are there any examples of 'doing it the right way' that we can refer to? How has the Black and Brown community reacted?
There is a lot to think and talk about. Our purpose is to bring knowledge and truth to these and other questions. With your participation this definitely will be an educational feast with leftovers!! Bring your appetite!
