We had a break last week because of our participation in Community events. Our main theme for this series ‘Black Culture and Politics’ will continue this last week of April as we look at Black Athletics and Politics. We will span a period of time to look at the actions that were taken by athletes, if any, the influence they had and are having on the Black Community today and the consequences of those actions that were in direct confrontation of the ideals and practices of mainstream American society.

Are athletes as a group or as individuals stepping up to the plate and making a real difference? Bring your own observations to the table in what we anticipate to be a lively discussion. The session will also look at the important topics of the day and how they affect the community through the lens of supporting videos and written documentation. We will see you on Saturday!
